Whoever does the fulfillment for this product does not box the case that the weights come in. They just slap a UPS label on the case and ship. Your case will arrived dented, etc. I wanted the case to store the weights in and did not want UPS labels stuck all over it. The case is meant for this purpose but mine was dented from shipping and the 2 blue plastic latches were busted off as well. The actual product is great for the price but the case will arrived damaged because the company selling these cannot afford to put the item in a shipping box! Not the fault of UPS...their packages travel via conveyor belts and are handled when loaded...You were warned...

I picked these up somewhere else locally for the same price. I have to say, I really like them. The weights are durable and look high quality.
The texture on the handle for grip is perfect.. it doesn't hurt your hand if you're not using gloves, but it's still textured enough to provide plenty of grip. It seems hard to find a good balance here with most dumbbells. They're usually either too rough and rub your hand raw, or too smooth and don't provide enough traction. There are rubber rings on both sides of the handle to secure the weights, and the screw on cap has a rubber ring glued to it.. which makes for a nice tight, rattle-free seal when screwing everything together. The only thing that could use some work is the carrying case.. I do NOT trust the thin plastic latches that hold it together when it's closed. The case seems very cheaply made, but not enough to dock a star.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the weights.
People whining about the smell.. there IS an odor to them, but you won't really notice it unless the weights are right up to your nose. If you still have a problem with the smell, just stick them outside for a couple days.. problem solved.

i just recived them eariler today. they arrived undammaged, and in great condition. they work great for everything that i need them for. the only compliant i have with the item is that it smells like gasoline, but a great product. i would recomend to everyone.

Received these weights today. Very nice higher quality(for the price) weight set for a beginner like myself. The case and weight arrived in great shape. Nothing was broken and I got overnight shipping with Amazon PRIME for only $3.99!! Very cool! Double boxed and everything!
The weights do have a mild smell of plastic. It does not smell like oil like others have stated but a strong factory plastic likely from the case. I let my weight set air outside for a few ours and the smell is less. The weights are more like 18 pounds a piece. The bar does not weigh 5 pounds like the description says. It was about 3 pounds when I weighed it.
Great beginner-intermediate weight set that wont break the bank. I highly recommend!

Excellent product(weights, bars and spinners)... The vendor shipped quickly, and the case arrived undamaged... Everything arrived in great condition. I seem to have been lucky... yes!! Great price for free shipping on 50lbs. Any particular bad smell... Thank you
