I am a high school baseball coach and I have purchased 3 types of adjustable dumbells. After trying all 3 I have to say that these are the better of the 3. Reasons being is because they are easy to adjust the weights as opposed to the turn/click adjustable dumbells and they are better because the weights are strongly assembled as opposed to adjustable dumbells that use a plastic based material to hold the weights together.
Lastly, the price is right.

I searched the internet for days looking for the best adjustable dumbbells I could find. Bowflex and Powerblocks were the top 2 brands that were most reviewed and all of the reviews had something bad to say. I finally settled on these because of price and let me say it was a great decision. They are well made, easy to use, sturdy, and comfortable. The grips are just like ones you'd find in a gym. Switching weights takes seconds. They come with holders that are sturdy plastic. I had my first workout with them and was so pleased. They seem to not have the problems that bowflex and powerblocks do (cheap construction, difficulty changing weights, and bad grips). I would recommend these to anyone who wants a pair of adjustable dumbbells. They are way less expensive than the other 2 brands as well (and I got free shipping on mine too).

These dumbells are certainly not the best quality but they get the job done. Initially, it is kindda hard to change the weights. I also could not use one of the plates that came with the product but the customer service is pretty responsive and they mailed me a new plate real fast.
Overall, just an OK product. You get what you pay for holds true in this case.

Great Deal on Adjustable Dumbbells May 18, 2011

I got this set specifically for P90X and after spending several hours mulling thru several of the other "top" brands, found the simplicity of adjustment, durability (all steel handles) and safety of the positive locking adjustment gate put the BF set at the top of my list and a best buy to boot. Sofar I've not been disappointed as can quickly adjust each dumbbell in as little as 5# increments between excercies and not have to hit pause.
The only drawbacks I see is that if adjusting at 5# increments, one side will be 5# heavier than the other so may feel unbalanced. I just gripped closer to the heavier end and felt fine to me.

I have been looking at getting adjustable weights for years, but could never justify it as I had the full set of hex weights. But, I wish I had these years ago. So easy to change the weight, sturdy construction and I am so happy I didn't opt for the lighter set. They clank a little bit, but that is to be expected. Space saving and easy to use. Highly recommend.
