Terribly inaccurate Mar 03, 2010
By Eric Lemberg
"canuck skier"
I received the S30 and tried it out after a couple of drinks and wine, over 4 hours, at home. Waited the 30 minutes and blew a .315, which is supposed to be "unconcious". The next day, after a 22 oz. beer and my wife had one glass of wine, after waiting about 30 minutes, I blew 0.00 and my wife .06. This aparatus is not accurate at all. When I wanted to return it to the Amazon vendor - Ace Photo Digital, they refused the return for sanitary reasons. Don't buy this item but try an upgrade as you will be stuck with it if you try it and get the same results I did.

Defective or incredibly innacurate... Sep 13, 2009
By Chad Bolton I really hope I received a defective unit. I used this thing right out of the box completely sober. It registered as a .02 bac. I used it about an hour later and to my surprise it actually worked. I blew a .00 bac. Later I tested it and blew a .08. The next day I had one drink...waited about an hour and it registered me having a .22 bac. Unbelievable! Other than the fact that this thing absolutely doesn't work, it does have a nice slim design. That is it! Will RMA and update.

Great for the Money! Dec 01, 2010
By DG Nice product. The reviews are a little mixed. I think it's because the directions are not complete. The things that affect all breathalyzer tests affect this one as well. The 30 min wait time is not the important part, outside of the fact that it takes about that long for the alcohol you just drank to get into your blood stream. What is important is that absolutely no alcohol can remain in your mouth. This includes burping. The directions should say rinse your mouth with water, swallow and wait for a couple of minutes. If you burp, start over. If you follow this procedure, the device is accurate to 0.01 as it claims. Do a couple of tests until you get fairly consistent results. It's great for "piece of mind" and well worth the money.

Very Inaccurate Dec 13, 2009
By Travis Taylor I have used this breathalyzer about 50 times with over 20 different people at parties. Even when people wait 30 minutes after drinking to use it as instructed by the manual, it gives a highly inaccurate reading. This breathalyzer easily measures 0.1 BAC too high during every use.

I am really drunk now and this Backtrack S30 works great Jan 01, 2012
By UnclePen I have been drinking heavily tonight so I am sleeping in my car in the bar parking lot. This thing says I am at a .18 Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) level. I can feel the world spinning around me now, and normally I would be using both lanes on the interstate to get my a*& home - but not tonight.
I knew my BAC was probably pretty high when I was kicked out of the bar for making fun of the bartender's tattoo and she refused to serve me. I also had a pretty good idea that I had gone too far when I initially I tried to get in another Ford Taurus, but my keys wouldn't fit.
So I will sleep this off and then be glad I bought this BacTrack S30. It is a good investment. As long as I respect my BacTrack S30 BAC readings I won't need to worry about those tormenting AA meetings.
