I used Aqua Filters for years but they have gradually changed for the worst. A highly effective product has evolved into a cheap knock-off of the original. Most noticeable was the interior filter itself which decreased in size, held much less water and no longer filled the white plastic cigarette holder. This last change allowed unfiltered smoke to pass through.
I never thought I'd stop using Aqua Filters but the quality has become so awful that I had to try something else. Several months ago I tried Tar Gard filters and am very pleased with the results.

Did an interesting little experiment last week. I bought three different tar filters. A pack each of Tar Guards, Nic Outs and these AquaFilters. The Tar Guards and Nic Outs were the clear winners. After using the AquaFilters per the instructions they didn't seem to be removing much tar, so I did a little messin around. I trimmed the mouth end ever so slightly so it would fit in the end of one of the Nic Out filters and hot melt glued it to seal it. After smoking 5 cigs there was just about as much tar in the attached Nic Out filter on the end of the AquaFilter as the Nic Out by itself. The AquaFiter sounded like a sound idea but proved to be pretty in effective. The Tar Guard and Nic Out type filter seems to be about the same. Who would have guessed!

the filter turns dark from the tar that was removed, but I don't know how much was removed. They are acceptable.

THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT, IT DOES MOVE A GREAT AMOUNT OF NICOTINE & TAR FROM THE CIGARETTES THRU THE FILTERS.

The products works great at filtering. I've been using it for years and cannot smoke a cigarette without it. Took some time getting used to the amount it filters out of the cigarette, but well worth it! The holder fits any kind cigarette, even the slim ones, which is a big plus!
