Excellent cost/value Jan 06, 2008
By Johnny Os Low price in comparison to it's competitors, easy to assemble (six steps basically), sturdy and can be used for a wide variety of exercises other than situps. i.e. Bicep curls using the knee pads and free weights, lat pulls (with free weights), triceps kickbacks (with free weights) , leg raises and inclined bench press to name a few.
Sturdy enough to support my 6'4" 230lbs frame - with only one minor setback... the foam leg supports just aren't wide enough... a pretty minor complaint given the cost of this unit.

Great for the price, does what it's supposed to do. Aug 07, 2007
By K. Cone I'm a 125lb, 5' 5" woman and this bench serves my size very well. It's sturdy with just an oh-so slight amount of movement during use, especially if you are twisting your torso while doing sit-ups. But overall, very sturdy. Also I am using this on a carpeted surface which adds to that slight bit of movement during use.
It took 5 minutes to put together. All you need is a ratchet or a crescent wrench to tighten 5 bolts. The top rod with the 2 pads that you put your knees around is a sliding rod - it is not fixed. Just slip the rod through the hole and put the pads on both ends. If you have hulking knees/legs, I do think that this bench will *not* fit you. The rod is not made for huge legs to wrap around it. And you wouldn't be comfortable anyway.
The bottom rod has a bracket and bolt attached to it. You adjust the bench to the preferred incline and insert the rod with the welded bolt attached to it and tighten it with the triangular nut made to tighten by hand. You can see how this might get tedious if you're constantly adjusting. Although not completely a safe thing to do, I've had no problems so far with leaving the triangular nut off, allowing for faster adjustment. But since someone is now sharing it wih me I prefer to leave the nut on. I'll probably go to home depot and buy a locking pin and leave the triangular nut off altogther.
Oddities: there were a few stickers on the front adjustable bar that read "APEX JD 1.1" that looked like they were put on by someone after a few drinks (all crooked) which I removed (they came off very easily). One washer was missing, no big deal. This is a great deal with the free shipping. Some vendors charge up to $25 to ship similar benches.
I have just ordered the Apex JD 2.1 Flat Bench and can't wait to test it out!

A Quality Ab Bench At An Affordable Price Apr 21, 2008
By Mitchel Devin I searched all over for an abdominal slant board that is affordable, but yet durable and high enough quality to comfotably do the same slant board ab workouts I do at the gym. I am happy to say that I have found it in the Apex JD-1.1. I am 6' Ft tall 265 Lbs. and my wife is 5'6" and 135 Lbs. She and I are able to switch off between alternate sets without having to readust the leg height positions, which is a plus. This board was simple to put together and made a great addition to my olypic weights home gym. If you are looking to firm up those abs at home with a quality slant at an affordable price, look no further. The Apex JD-1.1 is it...

Great for my sore back Apr 19, 2009
By Tootsie I bought this product to get a good stretch out for my back. I love the results also to get the inversion benefits for organs and blood flow. I use a rope to lower myself down and then just relax. Free shipping and 5 days to arrive...Imagine that...to Hawaii? Great service! I'll be back.

Decent for the $$$ Jan 29, 2009
By Joel M. Brooks
"JMB"
Not to bad considering the cost. It's a little on the small side (I'm 6'1") and I barely fit. It does the trick though. If you're a wide person, you might want to look else where as the back board is very narrow. It does support my 215lb frame though. I'll give it 3.5 stars.
